Star Wands
Wands are always the best. No matter the age, they’re always fun to make and even better to pretend play with. The options are endless, and seemingly in our house, you can never have enough of them. The simplest ones to the ones you may or may not over pay for at a fancy Disney on Ice situation. The one we’ve made here is super simple. It can have magical powers, or it can be a bookmark for your favorite book. Enjoy!

Directions
First: Trace a star onto the cardstock or heavy duty watercolor paper. If you’re having a hard time with the star, you can google “star pattern printable” and usually find a lot of options pretty quick. But otherwise I think if they’re not perfect, they’re more cute. A note on paper type. We like using the heavy duty watercolor paper (we’ve tried a lot and this is our favorite) because sometimes the kids like to paint with tempera paint sticks or watercolors first, and this paper can handle those pretty well.
*****Update since original post. Instead of tracing all of the stars, I have since purchased a 3.5” star puncher. It has changed my life, especially if you are making these for a party and punching out a lot!Decorate your star! Crayons, paint, markers, glitter are all great options. We used glue and glitter for these. And we added star beads to the stick with glue too.
Next: Cut out some pieces of felt. Glue or tape them to the back middle of the star.
Then: Glue or tape the popsicle stick to the back of your star. If your kids are wild, hot glue can work well here too.
Last: Decorate your popsicle stick. We added a few star beads to ours. Markers and crayons could be fun too.
