A Snowy Day
We had our first snow this week and it was beautiful. However it’s also been feeling like the arctic, so we needed an indoor craft. For The Wilds pop-up class we paired this craft with reading “A Snowy Day” by Ezra Jack Keats and some winter-themed sensory bins. It was so much fun, and each little artist made the cloud their very own. Enjoy!

Supplies
Corrugated Cardboard
Watercolor Paper
Felt
Tempera Paint Sticks
Natural Bakers String
Glue
Scissors
Pencil
Directions
First: Draw and cut out a cloud shape from the corrugated cardboard. This is much easier to cut than other cardboard. It comes in large quantities, but we use it for collages, ornaments, frames, and lots of other fun projects. If you have the room to store it, it’s a great craft supply to have around!
Decorate your cloud! We used blue and white tempera paint sticks for these + some blue felt pieces we cut out. Tempera paint can work well too, as well as any other decorating supplies you may have around. And by all means, it can be whatever color you want!
Next: Cut out several snowflake shapes or various sizes. Glue or tape them to the back of the cloud.
Last: Hang it up in your window!
